Meta says its new AI is too dangerous to release.

Meta is developing a new AI tool called Voicebox, which has the ability to generate speech in multiple languages, including English, French, German, Spanish, Polish, and Portuguese. According to Meta, this technology is exciting as it allows people to communicate naturally and authentically, even if they don't share a common language. Voicebox utilizes generative AI to create speech using voice samples and simple text inputs. Additionally, Meta claims that the tool can effectively filter out unwanted background noises from audio samples. However, unlike other AI tools such as ChatGPT, Bard, Dall-E, or Midjourney, Voicebox is not yet available for testing. Meta has decided to restrict access to Voicebox due to concerns over potential misuse and associated risks.
