Meta Platforms, the parent company of Facebook, is developing a powerful artificial intelligence (AI) system to rival OpenAI's advanced models, as reported by the Wall Street Journal. The goal is to have this new AI model ready by the next year, surpassing their commercial Llama 2 model in capability. Llama 2, launched in July, competes with OpenAI's ChatGPT and Google's Bard. This forthcoming system aims to assist other companies in creating advanced text and analysis services. Meta plans to commence training the large language model in early 2024. Apple is also reportedly working on similar AI offerings, including a chatbot called 'Apple GPT'.
