Google has been testing its medical AI chatbot, Med-PaLM 2, in hospitals, including the Mayo Clinic. The chatbot, trained on medical expert demonstrations, aims to answer medical questions. Although it has some accuracy issues, it performs well in reasoning, providing consensus-supported answers, and comprehension. Similar accuracy problems exist with other popular chatbots like OpenAI's ChatGPT and Google's Bard. Customers testing Med-PaLM 2 will have control over their encrypted data, which Google won't access. Google's senior research director, Greg Corrado, acknowledges the early stage of Med-PaLM 2 but believes it expands AI's potential benefits in healthcare
