Google has introduced a virtual try-on feature for online shopping, utilizing generative AI to show how clothes look on different body types. The feature allows users to refine inputs such as color, pattern, and style, and provides options from various stores across the web. Shoppers can see how clothing items drape, stretch, and form wrinkles on a range of models, and find matching pieces in different sizes, styles, or colors. Google used AI to create realistic images of over 80 models in various poses and plans to expand the feature to men's clothing in the future. Other companies like Amazon, Shopify, and Instacart are also incorporating AI into shopping experiences.
